Our Guiding Principles
About us
Cloud Gymnastics is committed to providing the best possible environment for children to develop their skills and achieve their full potential. We understand that children who participate in a wide range of sports are more likely to excel in their chosen sport when they reach adolescence.
We have exclusive preschool and recreation programs and curriculums, which lay the foundation for our athletes to progress to more advanced levels. We incorporate the "New Gymnastics Culture," which is becoming more prevalent in the industry, and is focused on safe, progressive, and developmentally appropriate training methods.
At our gym, we offer a range of programs for children of all ages and skill levels. Our "Mini Clouds" program is designed for preschool-aged children and focuses on developing fundamental movement skills and coordination. Our “Silver Clouds” program follows the Colours of the Rainbow, helping school-aged children achieve success and progress in our gymnastics curriculum. The "Thunderclouds" program will be our competitive program, that we plan to roll out over the next few years. This program will be designed for more advanced gymnasts who are interested in competing. Learn more about our programs and specific classes here.
My name is Olivia Fadden, the Founder and Owner of Cloud Gymnastics and a local mum of three preschool aged children.
I have an extensive background in gymnastics, both as a medalled National Athlete in Australia and as a coach for over 10 years, including managing and training a team of 30 coaches. Additionally, I have worked in childcare for children of various ages.
Despite completing a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and initially having a desire to work in paediatrics, I could never shake the feeling that I was destined to open a gymnastics club. My passion lies in combining all of my training knowledge and experience to help children learn through play and fun, with developmentally appropriate timeframes so that they can have a strong foundation to compete at any level in whatever sport they choose.
I believe that gymnastics provides an excellent foundation for all sports, as it emphasizes strength, agility, and coordination, all whilst being incredibly fun and engaging for children. My goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where staff, children (and parents) can learn and grow at their own pace, while being challenged to reach their full potential.
Whether your child is interested in gymnastics as a sport or simply wants to improve their overall physical abilities, I am confident that my own and my teams expertise and experience can help them achieve their goals, but more importantly have fun whilst doing it!
Head Coach and Gym Manager
My name is Opal, I am an elementary physical education teacher from Australia. I have coached multi sports to children aged 2-12 years for 10+ years, I completed the equivalent to lower JO levels in Australia and have finished both a Sport Science and Teaching degree. I love working with children and have extensive knowledge of how to engage students and break down the components of a skill.
In my free time I really enjoy being outdoors, skateboarding, hiking, biking and you may even find me spinning a DJ set over the weekends!
It has been great coaching my current students and I look forward to seeing some new faces this year!
High Clouds & Thunderclouds Coach
My Name is Liz Gardner and I am yet another Australian to join the Cloud Gymnastics Family.
I grew up with a passion for everything sport and spent much of my childhood between a swimming pool, gym club or running track! My main drive however, was for gymnastics, which led me to compete as a National Level gymnast from level 7 - level 10.
However at the end of my gymnastics journey, with my sporting ambitions still not fulfilled I transitioned into Aerial Skiing as a 19 year old and had the incredible opportunity to represent and travel with the Australian National team for 12 years and compete at the 2006 and 2010 Olympic Games.
I started my coaching journey as a 16 year old (27 years ago!) and have worked with recreational gymnastics classes right through to National Level Gymnasts. I was fortunate to be able to continue this coaching journey throughout my athletic career in both gymnastics and a variety of other sports and after completing a Sport Science and teaching degree I jumped back into the coaching arena in a full time capacity.
I worked with both the Australian and Canadian National Freestyle Skiing teams and had the opportunity to coach with the Canadian National Team at the 2018 Olympics, a unique opportunity I shared with my husband.
With the arrival of my son I took a step back from coaching into sports management and loved the time behind the scenes, but missed having impact face to face with athletes and the joy of supporting the learning process.
My first love is Gymnastics and after settling in Squamish with my son (now 6yrs) and husband I am very excited to get back in the gym on a part time basis and support every budding gymnast to be THEIR very best.
Looking forward to seeing you around the gym and getting to know the Cloud gymnastics family.
