Carnival at Cloud Gymnastics
Carnivals at Cloud allow us to celebrate the achievements of our recreation and preschool gymnasts! These carnivals are a wonderful opportunity for your child to showcase the skills they've mastered over the past 10 + weeks and to celebrate their progress and growth. They are held in your childs normal class time, with Recreation gymnasts working on their’s over two weeks and Preschoolers in one week! It's a fun-filled week, and we encourage parents and caregivers to attend!
Recreation Classes
For our preschool gymnasts, they'll receive a stamp book page, and a stamp will be placed on each skill they've mastered, selected from the previous weeks themes. They will also receive a lang-yard with a name page, parents can keep these and bring them back each carnival to add the next sheet, otherwise they will still receive a new one.
For our Recreation Gymnasts your child will receive a certificate in the colour they achieve and you will be emailed a copy of the certificates and the marked skills. If your child has mastered most of the skills in their current colour (80% pass rate - 3 to 4 stars per skill), they'll have the opportunity to progress to the next colour. Please see the info graphic for the Classes and their corresponding Colours. If you child has completed the last Colour in their class, we will contact you to discuss whether they need to move to the next class and when that will happen.
Why do we require a pass rate?
As the colours go up, skills get more difficult and they are built on the foundations that the lower Colours provide. If the athlete hasn’t achieved these skills to a higher standard, they will not be able to complete the more difficult skills safely if at all.
My child finished the highest colour of their class, why can’t they move to the next class?
If your child received 80% on their last skills assessment, please contact us. If your child didn’t achieve 80%, they will need to continue working on the last colour of their class until the next carnival where we can reassess if they need to move up.
